- Birçok ülkeden 228 akademisyen ve aydın, Türk Tabipleri Birliği (TTB) Merkez Konseyi Başkanı Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı'nın derhal ve koşulsuz olarak serbest bırakılması için çağrı yaptı.
Aydınlar, yaptıkları ortak açıklamayla, "yaşanılan hukuksuzluk son bulsun" dedi.
Bianet'te yer alan habere göre, Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur Fincancı'nın tutuklu yargılandığı davanın 23 Aralık'ta İstanbul'da görülecek ilk duruşması öncesi açıklama yapan 228 akademisyen ve aydının açıklaması şöyle:
'TUTUKLANMASI HUKUKA AYKIRIDIR'
"Bu metni, Prof. Dr. Şebnem Korur-Fincancı'nın gözaltına alınması ve tutuklanmasına ilişkin endişelerimizi ifade etmek üzere yazıyoruz. Kendisine yöneltilen suçlamalar asılsızdır ve tutuklanması hukuka aykırıdır.
"21 Ekim 2022 tarihinde, avukatları Şebnem Korur-Fincancı hakkında, Irak Kürdistan Bölgesi'nde olası kimyasal silah kullanımına ilişkin bağımsız bir soruşturma yapılması çağrısından dolayı Savunma Bakanlığı'nın talebi ile bir ceza soruşturması başlatıldığını öğrendiler.
"Profesör Fincancı önde gelen bir insan hakları savunucusu ve adli tıp uzmanıdır. Dr. Şebnem Korur-Fincancı, 26 Ekim 2022 günü erken saatlerde 'terör örgütü propagandası yaptığı' iddiasıyla polis tarafından gözaltına alındı ve daha sonrasında tutuklandı.
"Sadece kimyasal silah kullanımına ilişkin iddiaların araştırılması çağrısında bulunduğu için Prof. Korur-Fincancı hakkında cezai soruşturma başlatılması ve tutuklanması, ceza hukukunun kötüye kullanılması suretiyle bir insan hakları savunucusunun susturulması anlamına gelir.
"Ayrıca devlet insan haklarını korumakla yükümlü olduğundan, devlet bu yükümlülüğüne de aykırı hareket etmiştir.
"İnsan hakları savunucularının, insan hakları ihlallerini önleme ve raporlama çalışmaları sırasında karşılaştıkları, haklarında soruşturma başlatma, tutuklanma ve susturmaya yönelik bütün baskıların sona erdirilmesi çağrısında bulunuyoruz.
"Sizleri, Fincancı'nın derhal ve koşulsuz olarak serbest bırakılmasını talebini ve kimyasal silah yasağının olası ihlaline ilişkin bağımsız bir soruşturma başlatılması çağrısını dikkate almaya ve uygulamaya davet ediyoruz."
